Inaugural Post

Old Trin

Welcome to the Salterrae’s official blog.  As the voice of Trinity College (since 1852), it only makes sense that we should expand our reach beyond the confines of the UofT campus, and provide you with 24/7 access to our opinions.

We’ve got an exciting array of bloggers already lined-up but we’re always looking for more.  So if you’re interested, send us an email at eds(at)salterrae(dot)ca.

Eventually, we hope to have a post go up at least once a day.  If we can get enough bloggers on board, the frequency may go up.  Thusly, we hope this blog will become a new tradition at Trinity — allowing students a new forum for self-expression that takes advantage of all the virtues of “new media” — and one that is not hindered by production schedules.

We hope to provide content that is both Trin-specific, and that will appeal to the outside world (really, anything that could possibly be deemed to apply to student life).  Different bloggers will obviously have different interests.  I will most likely post on Trin politics, American politics, Canadian politics, and on delicious food.

Even if you’re not a blogger, you can still weigh in by leaving a comment.  You are strongly encouraged to comment, but be forewarned that the comments will be moderated (but only very lightly…).

While you wait for more posts, I strongly encourage you to pay a visit to the Wikimedia Commons “University of Trinity College” Page.  This collection was mainly assembled by Dan Horn and Cameron Wachowich (both 1T0) of the Trinity College Historical Society from various government archival sources.

Enjoy the blog, and we hope you’ll continue to visit.  Everyday.  Four times a day.

Gabe De Roche.

This is wonderful! The Salterrae is moving into the 21st century – as have most media outlets. I look forward to some good reads!
